Before you walk out the door, stash a healthy snack in your briefcase or purse. Dry roasted almonds (unsalted, please) with dried cranberries make for a quick satisfying treat. It’s much easier to say “no thanks” to that candy bowl when you have something else handy to eat.
Don’t feel uncomfortable at the next kid’s birthday party when you’re eating a banana that you brought instead of a slab of cake frosted with sweetened vegetable shortening. Most of the people watching you will wish they were eating that banana, too.
