Cool Tips for Summer Heat

It’s been hot and humid outside – a recipe for heat exhaustion and heat stroke if you overdo it outdoors.

If you plan to spend a considerable amount of time outside, make sure you wear light-colored clothing that’s loose fitting, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Drink enough water that you never become thirsty. Plan activities in the cooler parts of the day, preferably in the shade.

Avoid drinking caffeine, alcohol and sugary beverages.
