Manage Stress for Skin Health

Yoga is known for helping joint, sleep and circulation problems. Now it appears to help ease chronic, inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea and acne.

According to dermatologist Richard G. Fried, who spoke at the American Academy of Dermatology’s Summer Academy Meeting, stressful situations can cause neuropeptides to be released by the skin’s nerve endings. This can cause skin conditions to flare up.

Other stress management therapies include: meditation, tai chi and cognitive behavioral therapy.
