Promote Good Hygiene

When the school bus drops off your child from school, it may not be just your son or daughter that heads into the house.

Pediatricians are reminding parents to teach their children about proper hygiene at school. Children unknowingly become infected when they touch their eyes, nose or mouth, according to Dr. Kate Cronan, a medical editor at Nemours’ KidsHealth.org.

Parents should keep their children home if they show signs of the following common childhood illnesses: pinkeye, strep throat, head lice, molluscum contagious (a viral skin infection) and walking pneumonia.
