Although further investigation is needed, researchers of a new study to be published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, say women who drank coffee had a lower risk for depression. The effect increased with the number of cups women drank. For example, women who drank four cups of coffee every day had a 20 percent lower risk of depression than women who drank two to three cups. They had a 15 percent risk reduction.
Health experts warn that drinking too much coffee can cause nervousness or sleep problems.
