Reduce Risk of Colorectal Cancers Through Diet

A new study shows that eating brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli can decrease the risk of getting cancer in the upper parts of the colon.

A decreased risk of cancer in the lower portion of the colon was associated with eating more apples or dark yellow vegetables, according to a press release from the Journal of the American Dietetic Association. The study will be published in its October issue.

Researchers also found that drinking high levels of  fruit juice was associated with a higher risk for rectal cancer.
