Dutch researchers have found a drop in stroke risk associated with fruits and vegetables that have white flesh. For every 25 grams daily of white fruit or vegetables eaten, a person reduced their risk of stroke by 9 percent, according to a study published in the journal Stroke. An apple weighs about 120 grams.
White fruits and vegetables also include: pears, apple juice, cauliflower, cucumbers and mushrooms.
Researchers added that it’s important to eat a “rainbow” of fruits and vegetables for a variety of nutritional benefits.
