Avoid Screen Time for Babies, Pediatricians Urge

Pediatricians are recommending parents avoid letting their children under the age of 2 watch television or engage in “screen time.”

Although more research is needed, a news release from the American Academy of Pediatrics states that young children “with heavy media use are at risk for delays in language development once they start school.” Watching TV close to “bedtime can cause poor sleep habits and irregular sleep schedules, which can adversely affect mood, behavior and learning.”
