According to a new study, women who drank more than three cups every day were 20 percent less likely to develop basal cell carcinoma. Sorry guys. The effect for men was a 9 percent reduction.

And, researchers noted, drinking coffee did not affect the risk of getting melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Doctors say the best way to avoid skin cancer is to stay out of the sun, wear sunscreen and have your skin checked regularly.

The study has not been peer reviewed. It was recently presented at the annual meeting for the American Association for Cancer Research.
