Harbour View Earns Gold Standard Accreditations in Radiology

Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View recently earned three-year accreditations for its ultrasound, MRI, and CT by the American College of Radiology (ACR) along with an annual accreditation for the mammography program by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program (MQSA).

The American College of Radiology (ACR) gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards, following a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.  The Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requires mammography facilities across the nation to meet uniform quality standards to assure high-quality mammography for early breast cancer detection, leading to early treatment, and ultimately an increased chance of survival.
