Underage Drinking Peaks Before Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is known for family reunions, good food and football. It’s the day and night before Thanksgiving that has health officials concerned.

According to the National Center on Addictions and Substance Abuse, more underage drinking occurs on Thanksgiving eve than any other day of the year.

Help your teens and their friends avoid alcohol by supervising alcohol-free gatherings for them. If your child wants to attend a party, make sure parents and other adults are there to ensure no underage drinking. Know your child’s friends and their parents. Lastly, lock up alcohol in your home.
