Keep Fevers Out of the Gym

Some people swear by a good sweat to help them get over a cold. But working out intensely can make things worse.

According to the American College of Sports Medicine, exercise is OK if you have a runny nose or sore throat. But if you have a cough, fever, swollen glands, body aches or pain, stay home and rest.

Sweating out an illness has not been proven in any studies. Always consult your doctor for advice.
