Snack on Prunes to Prevent Bone Loss

Prunes may be the most “bone-friendly” fruit on the market.

Researchers at Florida State University have found that prunes may be key in the fight against bone loss. A study of midlife women who ate ten prunes a day for a year, showed a significant decrease in bone loss. For those of us who couldn’t manage to eat ten prunes, even three a day can have a significant impact on bone loss.

This news is especially important for menopausal women, who can lose up to 20% of their bone mass in the years following menopause.
