Bon Secours Hampton Roads invites you join us in supporting Good Help to Those in Need® at the Bon Secours Fleur-de-Lis Society Gala to be held March 10 at the Portsmouth Renaissance Hotel. Proceeds will benefit the Bon Secours Care-A-Van program, a mobile healthcare service offering free medical services to adults and children without health insurance. The Care-A-Van program has been very successful in Norfolk, Portsmouth and Newport News and the Fleur-de-Lis Society Gala proceeds will help expand the services into the Suffolk community. The Fleur-de-Lis Society is a group of Bon Secours’ generous donors who have given greater than $1000 in a year.
Dave Baldwin, director of Bon Secours Hampton Roads Care-a-Van, says, “The Care-a-Van is a bright example of Bon Secours putting its mission into practice. Bon Secours Hampton Roads provides millions of dollars to make sure the uninsured receive care. It all comes down to the individual. Patients often tell me, ‘I was at my wits end…Thank God the van was there for me…You saved my life.'” He adds, “We give good help to those in need. We treat them with the best care available.” Supporters of the 2012 Bon Secours Fleur-de-Lis Society Gala can make a difference in the lives of the uninsured by helping the Care-a-Van provide basic health care services free of charge.
The Fleur-de-Lis Society was created to honor the Sisters of Bon Secours and their ministry of healing. Arriving in America in 1881, the Sisters of Bon Secours brought good help to those in need® by going into the homes to care for the sick and dying. Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health System continues this 188-year legacy of reaching into the community to provide care.
