Tai Chi Helps Battle Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease

A new study gives hope for those who suffer from Parkinson’s disease.

Researchers found that people who have the disease but practiced tai chi – an exercise that gently takes the body through different poses – reduced their risk of falling down. Falls are a common problem in Parkinson’s. They can lead to fractures and concussions.

Patients who practiced tai chi also reported better balance and an improved ability to walk, according to the findings.

The study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
