ADA Encourages Diabetes Risk Testing

Yesterday was American Diabetes Association Alert Day®, an day of awareness designed to encourage individuals to learn about their risk of developing diabetes.

Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes ultimately result in high blood sugar levels, which damage the retina of the eye, the blood vessels of the kidneys, the nerves, and other blood vessels. Extreme cases can result in stroke, heart attack, coma, or seizure.

While you may have missed out yesterday, you can still take a quick Diabetes Risk Test on the American Diabetes Association website.
