A new study adds more weight to their recommendation: regularly eating fish was tied to a 12 percent lower risk of colorectal cancer, according to a study published in the American Journal of Medicine.

Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. More than 140,000 adults were diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2007, federal statistics show.
