Researchers from Sweden have found that those who smoke during early pregnancy may increase their child’s risk of developing asthma and wheezing as preschoolers.

While previous research has suggested that smoking during and after pregnancy raises the risk, the new study found that smoking only during pregnancy had an effect as well, according to a journal press release.
