Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital offers free diabetes management classes to help you improve your health both today and in the future. The classes, run by diabetes educators and registered dietitians, provide education on topics like nutrition, exercise, blood sugar monitoring and medication management.
When your blood sugar is well controlled, you have more energy and reduce your risk for serious complications like heart disease and stroke. Your whole body can feel the benefits of good blood sugar, from your nerves to your kidneys to your heart. Our staff will teach you how to reach this level of blood sugar control by making simple lifestyle changes.
Diabetes classes are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, from 9 am to noon. The classes take place in the Ruth Belle classroom at the Health Resource Center, 2 Bernardine Drive in Newport News.
